NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the Feasibilty of aircraft retrofit: Water Injected Turbomachines.
The proposed statement of work in the solicitation supports the efforts of NASA Glenn and the US Air Force Research Lab (AFRL/WPAFB) who are undertaking the evaluation of water injection’s effects on emissions. The proposed study by the offeror will support this work by further defining the maintenance benefits of water injection, and evaluating the feasibility of retrofitting a current production engine (e.g. PW4056; GE90, CF6) for water injection.
This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See note 26.
The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541710 and 1500, respectively.
The anticipated release date of RFQ NN0C466239Q is on or about June 17, 2004 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about June 24, 2004.
All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency.
