Description
 
NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for telescopic camera lens in support of the Return To Flight (RTF) Camera project. The salient characteristics of the camera lens are in accordance with the attached agency specification/drawing 79K36249.

This procurement is being conducted under the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items (FAR 13.5) in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in FAR 12.603. The provisions and clauses in the FRO are those in effect through FAC 2001-24, PIC 04-12, and PN 97-102. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9.

THIS IS A SYNPOSIS ONLY - THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The anticipated release date of the soliciation is on or about September 13, 2004 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about October 1, 2004.

This acquisition will be a full and open competition. All qualified resonsible business sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.

The Government intends to award a contract resulting from the solicitation based on Best Value Selection (BVS). Consideration will be based on factors of offerors' technical capability, past performance, delivery schedule, and price.

The anticipated contract type will be firm-fixed price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ). Orders will be placed as needed not exceeding the maximum contract quantity. The anticipated contract ordering period will be three (3) years from the date of contract award.

This notice is being issued as a Synopsis for the following:

ITEM NO. 1 - 150 inch telescopic camera lens in accordance with Draft Specification/Drawing 79K36249. Quantity: Min. 3/Max. 10 EA.

DELIVERY: The above items are required to be delivered FOB Destination to the NASA, Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".

The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
