NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the following software and firmware updates:

(5) Software/firmware updates and customer support for multiple Wildcard(tm) CardBus; setial no. 1000201, 1000202; part no. WC/XCV300-4
(6) Extended hardware warranty for item (5); part no. WD/XCV300-4/M
(7) Software/firmware updates and customer support for multiple Starfire(tm) PCI board; serial nos. 1000119, 1000124, 1000125; part no. WSF/XCV1000-4/1
(8) Extended hardware warranty for item (8); part no. WSF/XCV1000-4/1/M
(9) Software/Firmware updates and customer support for multiple Firebird(tm) for PCI; serial no. 1000026, 1000034, 1000036; part no. WSFB/XCVE2000-8P/36/M-5V and WSFB/XCVE2000E-8P/36M-3.3V; serial no. 1000110; part no. WSFB/XCVE2000-8P/36-3.3; serial no. 1000115, 1000116; part no. WSFB/XCVE2000-8P/36-3.3

(11) Extended hardware warranty for serial nos. 1000026, 1000036, 1000110, 1000115, 1000116 in item (9); part no. WSFB/XCVE2000-8P/36/M-3.3V/M
NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Annapolis Micro Systems, Annapolis, Maryland. This purchase is to be a renewal for software/firmware updates and extended warranties for boards (hardware) that were originally purchased from Annapolis Micro, and Annapolis Micro is the only provider of these items. The Authority is 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.
Interested organizations may submit their ability to provide these updates in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on September 14, 2004. Such abilities will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
