The “Winning Strategies in Teaming for Federal Contracts” training seminar will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2004 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, at The Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Norfolk, VA.
In this course the attendees will learn everything they need to know about the Federal laws, regulations and policies that provide the framework for teaming agreements and subcontracting. Small businesses will also learn how to assess and minimize the risk factors involved in teaming agreements and subcontracts, both as a prime and as a sub. As a subcontractor, you will learn how to protect your intellectual property or proprietary data. You will learn how to avoid or dilute oppressive clauses in teaming agreements and subcontracts. You will learn what clauses to insist upon and how to protect the piracy of your employees prior to, during, and after negotiation of the teaming agreement. As a prime, you will learn how to protect yourself against improper "affiliation" with a large business as a sub. The course is sponsored by the NASA Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization and the Federal Bar Association's Committee on Small Business and Socioeconomic Matters, in association with Coneventus, Inc.
