Many of Beacon's customers target a wide cross-section of the population, including users with disabilities. In addition, some websites are required by the Federal Government to be accessible and must meet certain accessibility guidelines under Section 508. Eugenia Slaydon, Beacon's Content Development Team Lead, has participated in the W3C WAI WCAG Working Group and is Master Certified in Web Design for Accessibility. Working with disabled users, she developed a solution to an accessibility issue related to forms, a solution that will be published by W3C as a technique for coding in the WCAG2 HTML Techniques. The Design staff is well-versed in coding and testing practices to ensure that completed projects meet the level of accessibility required. |
