DeKalb Video Productions is one of the few companies in the world with experience is creating fully accessible DVD's including audio navigation ("talking menus"). With audio navigation, a blind or low-vision user can access every feature of a DVD as easily as a sighted user. Along with subtitles and audio description, DVD is the only media format that can be made fully accessible to hearing and vision impaired consumers.
DeKalb Video Productions is currently in production on a series of 8 fully accessible DVD's on techniques for teaching math to blind students. These DVD's demonstrate proven techniques for teaching mathematics in elementary through school settings and will be distributed free of charge to vision teachers throughout the United States.
DeKalb Video Productions website has a "text only" version to make navigation using screen reading software (such as JAWS) as easy as possible (available February 2004). |
