This conference will examine and assess the current state of knowledge regarding youth violence and related health-risking social behavior and identify directions for future research. Experts will present the latest research findings on risk and protective factors involved in the development of youth violence and related behaviors, interventions to reduce those behaviors, and the costs and benefits of different approaches. After a day and a half of presentations and public discussion, an independent panel will weigh the available evidence and draft a statement addressing six pre-determined questions.
