Presidential Rank Awards |
Each year, our government recognizes and celebrates a
small group of career Senior Executives with the
Presidential Rank Award. The Presidential Rank Award
winners have demonstrated their ability to lead a
Government that delivers great service, fosters
partnerships and community solutions to achieve results,
and continuously pushes itself to get the job done more
effectively and efficiently. There are two categories:
The Presidential Rank Award of Distinguished
Executive is granted for sustained extraordinary
accomplishment. The evaluation criteria focus on the
executive’s leadership in producing results. Congress
raised the amount of the Distinguished Executive awards
granted in FY 1999 to 35% of the executive’s annual
salary. No more than 1% of the career SES corps can
receive the Distinguished Executive Rank Award in a
given year.
The Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Executive
is granted for sustained accomplishment. The evaluation
criteria focus on the executive’s leadership in
producing results. Congress raised the amount of the
Meritorious Executive awards granted after FY 1999 to
20% of the executive’s annual salary.
No more than 5% of the career SES corps can receive
the Meritorious Executive Rank Award in a given year.
