National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Dana Gioia to Testify at Fiscal Year 2005 House Appropriations Hearing

Washington, D.C. - The House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Charles Taylor (R-NC), will hold its first hearing on the National Endowment for the Arts' Fiscal Year 2005 funding, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2004. The hearing will be held in Room B308, Rayburn House Office Building, located at Independence Avenue S.W. and South Capitol Street. National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Dana Gioia will present President George W. Bush's Fiscal Year 2005 budget request of $139.4 million to the House Interior Appropriations Subcommittee. The request includes an increase of $18 million, most of which would fund a new national touring initiative American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius.
