Line Office SPs

We thank all of you who participated in the NOAA Strategic Planning process during Fiscal Year 2003. Your suggestions and comments were of key importance in our development of the NOAA Strategic Plan and the Line Office Plans. The new Line Office Plans were written to reflect directly the NOAA Strategic Plan mission and goals ? “to understand and predict changes in the Earth=s environment and conserve and manage coastal and marine resources to meet our Nation=s economic, social, and environmental needs.” We now have begun to implement the goals of these strategic plans by organizing according to Goal Teams and Programs.

The NOAA Strategic Plan and the Line Office Plans will be reviewed in Fiscal Year 2004 to reflect the new Goal Team and program structure. This new operational structure will allow better integration and alignment of our activities within our existing organizations. As these changes are implemented, NOAA will determine the need for other supplementary strategic plans for Goal Teams, Programs, or Councils.
