• The RRB has designated the Year 2000 conversion as its highest priority project.
  
• The agency’s major goals are:

- Complete the implementation of 100 percent of mission-critical systems by December 31, 1998.

- Complete the implementation of all non-mission-critical systems by September 30, 1999.

• The RRB is making very good progress on the Year 2000 project and is on track for meeting all of its goals.
  
• The RRB has 124 mission critical systems, of which 70 percent have been completed. The remaining systems are being tested, and are scheduled for implementation by December 31, 1998.
  
• As of September 30, 1998, the RRB had completed the renovation phase for all of its mission-critical systems.
  
• Comprehensive, post-implementation integration testing of mission-critical application systems will be conducted through most of fiscal year 1999.
  
• The entire personal computer inventory is being tested for Y2K compliance.
  
• External data exchanges have been identified; contacts with the external organizations have been made; and, file format revisions are near completion where necessary.
  
• External system interfaces with the Social Security Administration and the Department of the Treasury are being coordinated and tested as needed.
