Crew Members' Visas (C-1/D)

Versión en español

Airline crew members do not need visa interviews if the airline is registered under the Business Visa Program. Procedures for airlines are much the same as for companies. Please contact your company's personnel office. Airlines may use the program to obtain visas for pilots, flight attendants, and technicians to visit the U.S. for training visits, and for executives to obtain visas for business or pleasure trips.

Airline program visa applications, which should include the same items as regular business program applications, may be submitted Monday through Thursday from 8:00AM to 8:30AM, through Window 16 in the Consular Section. Passports are ready a week later and are delivered to the applicant's home.

For more information about these programs, please phone the Visa Information Call Center.

If the airline is not registered under the Business Visa Program, crew members require an interview.

Ship crew members do not need visa appointments and can come any day from Monday through Thursday, at 8:00AM. Crew members must present a letter from the shipping company or agent, which must be registered in the Embassy's special program for shipping companies.

Applicants must also present all other documents required for a business/tourist visa demonstrating economic and family ties to Colombia and any prior work experience. Prior passports showing travel or previous crew visas are especially helpful.

If a shipping company would like to register with our Embassy, please contact the Chief of the Anti-Fraud section at 315-1566, Monday thru Friday between 1:00PM and 2:30PM.
