Transit Visa (C-1)

Versión en español

Requirement for Colombians transiting through the U.S. enroute to other countries

All Colombian citizens intending to transit an airport in the United States to a third country are required to present a valid U.S. visa before boarding any U.S. bound flight. If the person does not have a Tourist Visa, it is necessary to apply for a Transit Visa (C-1); the requirements for both visas are the same. Prospective applicants for a transit visa need to apply for a visa interview and pay the visa application fee of $100.00 (the equivalent in Colombian pesos) at designated branches of the Banco Union Colombiano. At the time of the visa interview, applicants will need to show their tickets or itinerary indicating a final destination in a country other than the United States or Colombia, as well as the visa for that destination country, and other documents normally required to demonstrate visa eligibility.
