Background

This booklet is directed to employee annuitants and contains important information regarding a possible increase in your railroad retirement annuity under the Special Guaranty provision of the Railroad Retirement Act (RRA).  This guaranty assures you that the total monthly benefits payable to you and your family will be at least the amount you would have received if  your railroad service had been covered by the Social Security Act (SS Act).

Why This is Important

This booklet contains information that is important to you not only before you file your statement(s) but also after you have filed your statement(s).  Therefore, we suggest that you read this booklet and keep it handy for future reference.
