Eligibility

Who Can Join?

Eligibility for Individuals without prior US Military Service:

Must be a United States Citizen, or legal resident alien.

Must be at least 17 years old (with parental consent) and not have reached age 36.

Must be able to pass an extensive medical examination.

Must have no, or limited law violations.

Must be a High School Graduate or Equivalent.

Cannot be a single parent with primary custody of dependents.

Must be able to pass a written examination called the ASVAB
(Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery)

Eligibility for Individuals with prior US military Service:

Requirements for Prior Service personnel are extremely varied and depend on the number of years served, prior branch of service, dependency, and character of the prior service.
