December 21, 2000: Mirror Site - ATSDR, in collaboration with the Toxic Oil Syndrome Research Centre (CISAT) of the Institute of Health Carlos III, Madrid, Spain, has established an ATSDR mirror website in Spain.

November 2, 2000: Camp Lejeune, NC - Some drinking water wells in operation at Camp Lejeune prior to 1985 were found to be contaminated with trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PCE), used as degreasers and dry cleaning solvents. ATSDR is now seeking women who were pregnant while living in base housing at Camp Lejeune from 1968 to 1985 to participate in a survey. [ Details ]

October 25, 2000: Collaboration - With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, ATSDR has agreed to collaborate with the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB). As part of the collaboration, ATSDR will assist the CSB as it investigates chemical incidents.

September 21, 2000: Anniston, Alabama - The Exposure Investigation Report on the Solutia Inc./Monsanto PCB Site in Anniston, Alabama is now available online.

August 15, 2000: Health Professionals: Assistance Needed - If you are a health professional and not an expert in environmental health, ATSDR needs your assistance in Pilot Testing ATSDR's Case Studies in Environmental Medicine (CSEM).

July 5, 2000: Libby, Montana (Update) - An Overview of the Libby Community Environmental Health Project is available. Also available are Resources for Information on Asbestos and Asbestos-Related Disease, questions and answers about Exposure to Asbestos, questions and answers about Exposure to Asbestos in Insulation, and questions and answers about Exposure to Asbestos in Sources Other than Insulation.

June 24, 2000: Dover Township, New Jersey - An investigation into an elevated incidence of childhood cancers by ATSDR and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services has produced the report Analysis of the 1998 Water-Distribution System Serving the Dover Township Area, New Jersey: Field-Data Collection Activities and Water-Distribution System Modeling.

June 15, 2000: Randolph County, North Carolina - The Diagnostic Evaluation of Children with Respiratory Symptoms and Potential Exposure to Diisocyanates from the Trinity American Corporation (PDF 2.4 MBytes) is available for public comment until July 14, 2000. The file may be viewed with the Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded for free from www.adobe.com. Hard copies of the document may be requested by calling the ATSDR Information Center toll-free at 1-888-422-8737 or by e-mailing ATSDRIC@cdc.gov.

June 2, 2000: Fernald DOE Facility, Ohio - The Public Health Assessment for the Fernald Feed Materials Production Center has been released for public comment until June 30, 2000.

May 16, 2000: Brick Township, New Jersey - The Public Health Assessment on the Brick Township Investigation has been released for public comment.

May 16, 2000: LaSalle, Illinois - ATSDR and the Illinois Department of Public Health announce the availability of the preliminary mortality results of the first part of a two-part study of former workers of the LaSalle Electrical Utilities Company.

February 23, 2000: The most recent report of ATSDR's Child Health Workgroup, Promoting Children's Health, is now available on the ATSDR Web site.
