The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board has named Margaret A.
Stanley as its Director of Legislative Affairs.
An independent Federal agency headquartered in Chicago, the RRB administers the $8 billion-a-year benefit programs provided under the Federal Railroad Retirement and Unemployment Insurance Acts covering the nation’s railroad workforce and their families. In her new position, Ms. Stanley will oversee the RRB’s Washington, D.C. Office of Legislative Affairs. She will also be responsible for day-to-day liaison operations with congressional offices and will serve as a legislative advisor on railroad retirement and unemployment insurance matters. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Stanley served as a Legislative Affairs Officer, and before that as a Legislative Liaison Representative. She joined the RRB in 1981 from the Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee. A native of Washington, D.C., Ms. Stanley is a graduate of the University of the District of Columbia (B.S. 1979), and holds a Masters degree in Business and Public Administration from Southeastern University. She is a resident of Laurel, Maryland.
