We provide counseling to enlisted personnel in the Active Reserve (AR), Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR), Individual Mobilization Augmentees (IMA) and the Individual Ready Reserve. We can not provide reasons for failing selection however, we do provide counseling on improving individual competitiveness for promotion. Active Duty enlisted personnel have their own counseling section at Enlisted Assignments Career Counseling.

All Marines need to understand that per the Promotion Manual, you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your own record. The members of the counseling section will help you review your record but because of the numerous individual specific items that can be found in a record they cannot tell you if your record is complete.
