We provide counseling to Officers in the Active Reserve (AR), Selected Marine Corps Reserve (SMCR), Individual Mobilization Augmentees (IMA) and the Individual Ready Reserve. We can not provide reasons for failing selection however, we do provide counseling on improving individual competitiveness for promotion. Active Duty Officers have their own counseling section at Officer Assignments Career Counseling.

All Marines need to understand that per the Promotion Manual, you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of your own record. The members of the counseling section will help you review your record but becuase of the numerous individual specific items in a record, they cannot tell you if your record is complete.
