Active Reserve Enlisted (RAM-2)

Welcome to RAM-2:
Our mission is to manage the enlisted manpower requirements of the Active Reserve program. Our main areas of concern are accessing and retaining quality Marines. This also includes the process of rotating Marines to various duty stations in order to enhance their military occupationally specialty (MOS) proficiency and grow as the Marine Corps' current and future leaders.

OIC (703) 784-0531
SNCOIC,
MOS of 6000-7300 and"B" Billets (703) 784-0530
MOS of 0100-2100 (703) 784-0528
MOS of 3000-5800 and 8421 (703) 784-0529
Orders/Training & /New Accession Chief (703) 784-9107/08
The new accession process is essential to the program's success. Members of the Active or Reserve components are eligible to apply. Active Component (AC) Marines must have an EAS of less than 4 months to apply. The application requirements are fully described in MARADMIN 359/04. The accession process is extremely competitive. Standing accession boards are usually held every other month at this Headquarters. Results are published by MARADMIN.

Effective 1 April 03 RA will eliminate the CD board process and implement an AR version of the Active components first term alignment plan program. This new process will require AR Marines to submit for CD status in conjunction with applying for reenlistment. See MARADMIN 095/03 for more information.

An AR Marine who receives CD status is considered in an equal status with a second term active component Marine, who no longer must compete for an open boatspace, but must remain eligible for reenlistment. Also, Marines who become CD will have their EAS extended out to the end of their Reserve-ECC.

It is important for our incumbent CD Marines to understand the rotation policy. Assignments are first and foremost based on the needs of the Marine Corps. Our time on station policy reflects a three to five year time limitation in a geographic area. Please remember that these rules apply to all of us. As previously mentioned, assignments are geared to allow an individual to grow professionally and technically. During your career you will be afforded the opportunity to serve in a B-billet, such as Prior Service Recruiting, Drill instructor, 8711Training Chief or 9916 Staff Billets. AR reenlistment, promotion, and retirement policies are on par with the active component. AR Marines are also eligible for all the various officer commissioning programs offered in the Marine Corps.

Thank you for taking the time out to read this information. Please feel free to contact us at (703)784-0530/31. The DSN prefix is 278.
