Reserve Promotion Affiliation Program

RPAP BACKGROUND:
The Reserve Promotion Affiliation Program establishes 200 promotions yearly to Marines who agree to affiliate or remain affiliated with the Selected Marine Corps Reserve. The program offers a unique opportunity for qualified Marines to advance in both grade and level of responsibility.

RPAP ELIGIBILITY:
WHO:
-Former Active Duty Marines who, upon release from Active Duty, join a Reserve unit where a billet vacancy exists in the Primary Military Occupational Specialty he or she holds.
- Current drilling members of the Marine Corps Reserve.

WHAT:
-Agree to serve two (2) satisfactory years in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, in the unit and billet for which they received the RPAP promotion.

WHEN:
-Eligible Marines can be promoted as soon as they meet the minimum criteria outlined in the linked reference below.
-The mandatory two (2) satisfactory year payback begins on the date of promotion.

WHERE:
-Only in the SELECTED MARINE CORPS RESERVE!!!!!!!!
-This program is only available to Marines in the SMCR. Conditions of this agreement can be found in the below linked reference.

-Active Duty Marines can get more information from their Base Transitional Recruiter.
