Mr. James S. Jones was appointed as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Resolution
Management on December 17, 2000.
Mr. Jones has served in the
following positions:
Deputy Chief Network Officer in the
Veterans Health Administration from December 5, 1999 to December 16, 2000.
Medical Center Director of VAMC Danville,
IL from June 12, 1994 to December 4, 1999.
Associate Director of Edward Hines, Jr.
Hospital from April 7, 1991 to June 11, 1994.
Assistant Director as well as an
Associate Director trainee of Hines from January 1987 to April 6, 1991.
Health System Specialist at VAMC
Washington, DC from September 1980 to December 1986.
Mr. Jones started his career in the VA as
a Management Analyst Trainee at the Chicago West Side VA Hospital on November 17, 1975.
He is a 1975 graduate of the University of
Missouris Graduate Program in Health Services Management where he earned his
MBA/MHA. Mr. Jones received his B.S. from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri
(1968); served 2 years in the U.S. Army; worked two and one-half years for the McDonnell
Douglas Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri; and six months for S.S. Kresge & Company
in Chicago, IL.
Mr. Jones is a Fellow of the American
College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and a 1987 Leadership VA Participant.
Mr. Jones was born in Earle, Arkansas. He is a graduate of Central High
School in Hayti, Missouri, which is located in the "Bootheel" area of southeast
Missouri, about six miles west of the Mississippi River. He and his wife, Foyette are the
parents of twins: Joyette and James.
