The Library maintains several separately shelved special collections as well as virtual collections accessible through the online catalog.
Check to see if the journals essential to your research are on the NIST Research Library's core journal list.
View and request the most recent additions to the Library's book collection. New Books are kept for one week on the New Books shelf next to the Circulation Desk. To see new books from previous weeks, consult the notebook on the New Books shelf. Holds can be placed through the online catalog or by filling out a paper hold request form at the New Books shelf.

Virtual Collections
Virtual Collections are resources that are related by topic, but not necessarily shelved together in the Library. Virtual Collections are created and displayed within the Library's online catalog. To physically locate a title in a virtual collection, check for the Library location at the bottom of the record in the online catalog.
Browse online for books on homeland security and closely related topics including biometric identification, terrorism, weapons and weapons detection, and national security. This virtual collection includes books dating back to the 1940s.
Take a virtual tour through the Library's collection of management books and media. Topics include leadership, team building, managing for results, and the quest for quality.
