The USGS produced two types of maps for the State of California's Office of Emergency Services (OES). Maps identified areas where:
The National Weather Service (NWS) worked with OES to identify potential "hot-spots" around the 9-county San Francisco Bay Area during heavy rain events in the winter of 1998.
