    Water Quality Data Elements
Many entities collect water quality monitoring data.
Many kinds of water quality monitoring data are collected.
These data are useful to the original data collectors to answer their questions...
AND these data MAY be useful to others to answer:
  • similar questions; OR
  • questions for which the data were never intended to answer; AND
  • questions that may be asked in the future...
HOWEVER... the ability of others to use your data depends on your ACTION.

The Water Quality Data Elements (WQDEs) are lists of the minimum elements necessary to facilitate data use (information sharing and data exchange). Lists are divided into categories or "modules" specific to different types of water quality monitoring studies.
