Naval Environmental Protection Support Services
(NEPSS)
The Specialty Offices, which reside in various commands, are an important part of the Naval Environmental Protection Support Service. The Specialty Offices provide media specific environmental engineering, research, regulatory assistance, data management, and information exchange services for the Navy. Staffed with highly technical personnel and unique resources, the Specialty Offices will help meet the demanding environmental challenges of the future.
Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC).
As the NEPSS Specialty Office Program Manager, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command is the lead major claimant responsible for coordinating the Specialty Office tasking and budget for major claimant and Navywide support.
Engineering Service Center (ESC). As the Executive Manager of the NEPSS Specialty offices, the ESC coordinates the Navywide activities of the ordnance, aircraft, and marine environmental support offices. The ESC provides information management and technical aid to shoreside and shipboard programs. Commands or activities requiring special project support from the NEPSS program should contact the Specialty Office or the executive manager at the ESC.
