The Gov Online Learning Center First Floor rooms are described below, starting at the middle with the Registration Desk and continuing clockwise with the Virtual Classroom in the upper right corner. You may also move up to the second floor Leadership Learning by clicking on their floor icon to the right of the First Floor Floorplan.

Registration Desk

Here you will find basic information about the Gov Online Learning Center training courses. You can visit the Registration Desk to view a complete list of courses and to learn how to Log On and to Register for a course.

Virtual Classroom

Visiting the Virtual Classroom leads you to a variety of free training courses. After you Log On and are granted a password, you can enroll in courses on subjects such as project management, computer skills, leadership skills, and more. You can also access the e-Mentoring learning service for additional help with a particular course or topic in the free catalog. All of the classes are sorted by category or topic to help you select the courses you need. Step into the classroom and follow the instructions to enroll in a class or to contact a mentor.

Books 24x7

Books 24x7 provides instant access to electronic references delivered in a web-based interactive environment. Yet another online resource is this library of more than 50 electronic books in a variety of curriculum areas such as information technology, leadership, communication, and desktop computer skills. Books 24x7 is useful to complement your learning online or elsewhere, to support your need for "how to" information, and to contribute to your professional development. The subject matter you can search in this room serves as a complement to many of the current e-Training courses you can select in the Virtual Classroom.

Resource Center

The Resource Center contains a variety of reference tools and links to reference sources. You can connect online to the leading libraries of the world. Start at the Library of Congress, then go to the New York City Public Library and then pop around the world to visit dozens of the leading reference and resource centers.

Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC)

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Virtual Training Academy campus provides training and other materials targeted for law enforcement officers and their families. The area also provides information on upcoming training activities and related recent news events. Some areas of the campus are only available to registered law enforcement officials. Clicking on the FLETC icon through the "glass doors" will take you here.

Competency Management Center

The Competency Management Center currently houses the IT (Information Technology) Workforce Development Roadmap - commonly referred to as the IT Roadmap - designed for those currently in or interested in the 2210 series - IT Management Specialist. The Center provides tools for employees, supervisors, and managers to help assess competencies and plan careers by analyzing needed competencies in comparison to identified competencies required at various levels throughout recognized career positions and paths. The various tools will help optimize the career development process by providing a personalized career development plan mapping competency development needs to specific training resources.

Help Desk

If you experience problems or have questions about the technical operation of the Gov Online Learning Center, simply visit the Help Desk. Come to this location with questions about issues regarding the basic operation and functioning of the features in the Gov Online Learning Center. Search and Select

Yet another source of training for exploring specific training topics or brushing up on a skill is the Search and Select room. You determine the question and the courseware database search is on to present you with 5 to 7 minutes of targeted learning that answers your question.

Learning Management Office

This room contains information about the variety of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) courses that are available for purchase on the site. Detailed information about what is available for purchase, pricing, how to order, and contact info can be found on this page.
