Forthcoming Meetings

Seventh NIDA International Forum
Building International Research on Drug Abuse: Treatment Innovations
June 13-15, 2002
Quebec City, Canada

Detailed Information on Abstract Submission and Registration forms

This unique scientific meeting allows participants to network with talented colleagues, learn about drug abuse research and policy issues in other countries, and discuss NIDA-supported fellowships and other programs that could support international collaborations. The seventh NIDA International Forum will focus on advances in drug abuse treatment research, such as clinical trials, changing environments for pharmacotherapies, and current behavioral therapy studies. Through plenary sessions, work groups, and poster presentations, scientists will also examine issues in research methods, working with at-risk children and youth, drug-related HIV/AIDS, and advances in epidemiology, prevention, and basic science.

For information about 2002 WHO/NIDA/CPDD International Traveling Fellowships, please go to the Fall 2001 issue of the INVEST Letter. NIDA offers International Forum Travel Awards for researchers whose abstracts are accepted for oral or poster presentation. These competitive awards will be restricted to non-U.S. researchers who are living and working in their home countries. Applications from former NIDA-supported Fellows will receive preference. Recipients may not have received a NIDA award after July 1, 2001. Successful applicants will be notified by April 1, 2002. For more information, please go to the Fall 2001 issue of the INVEST Letter.
