If a beneficiary signs up for a Medicare approved discount card one day, gets more information, changes his or her mind can the beneficiary change his or her mind?
  Question
If a beneficiary signs up for a Medicare approved discount card one day, gets more information, changes his or her mind, and is still in the open enrollment period, then 2 days later, can the beneficiary change his or her mind?
  Answer
No. Once a beneficiary signs up for a drug card, s/he can only change cards during the next open enrollment period, which is November 15 through December 31, 2004. In certain limited circumstances a beneficiary may be permitted to change cards. The beneficiary should contact his or her sponsor if the individual has any problems associated with the enrollment. A beneficiary may also contact 1-800-MEDICARE with any questions or complaints.
