  Question
Please provide detailed information on how the drug card and/or transitional assistance denial review process will work.
  Answer
When a beneficiary is denied enrollment in the drug card or transitional assistance, he/she will receive a denial notice from the Sponsor. On that notice is a section that provides information on how to request a reconsideration. A beneficiary can fill out the appropriate section of the denial letter and mail or FAX it to MAXIMUS (CMS' reconsideration contractor), or call MAXIMUS on the phone to request a reconsideration. MAXIMUS expects to resolve all cases within 30 calendar days.
