Coastal GeoTools '05
March 7 to 10, 2005 • Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Coastal GeoTools is the conference series that focuses on the technical
information needs of the nation's coastal programs. The goals of
the conference are to promote the understanding and applied uses of geospatial
data and tools for studying and effectively managing the coast and to further
the goals of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. Please note the
new location this year – Myrtle Beach, the sun fun capital of the
East Coast! For updates on GeoTools '05, add yourself to the GeoTools
mailing list.
Upcoming Dates to Remember:
Dear Colleagues:
We are living and working in an increasingly technological world. Coastal
GeoTools '05 will be an important venue for coastal resource management
professionals to share their rapidly expanding technical knowledge and
experiences.
The fourth inauguration of this exciting conference focuses on real-life
coastal applications of geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing,
and decision-support tools, as well as the development of the National
Spatial Data Infrastructure.
There will be no need to tweak information or examples to try to fit into
a coastal management context at this conference. Attendees will walk away
from GeoTools better prepared to incorporate technology into their decision-making
processes, and inspired to participate in the coastal management technical
evolution.
A new venue for GeoTools means new energy as Myrtle Beach, South Carolina,
is considered the sun fun capital of the East Coast. When not learning
how to stay cutting edge at the conference, attendees will find a variety
of experiences, ranging from abundant golf and shopping to numerous opportunities
to explore the Carolina coastline.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn, share, and have fun.
Sincerely,
Margaret Davidson
Director
NOAA Coastal Services Center
