Precision strike conducted against building on outskirts of Fallujah
Oct 3, 2004

CAMP FALLUJAH -- At approximately 1 a.m. local time, Oct. 3, Multi-National Force - Iraq conducted another precision strike against a building on the outskirts of Fallujah where 10-15 Anti-Iraqi Forces (AIF) were moving weapons.

The building, housing the enemy fighters and weapons, was engaged and severely damaged. Forty-five minutes of secondary explosions indicated the building was being used as a huge weapons/ammunition cache. A large number of enemy fighters are presumed killed.

Throughout the operation, multiple measures were employed to ensure no innocent civilians were present when the strikes took place. All precautions were made to keep collateral damage to a minimum.

AIF criminals are reported to have links to local terrorist elements, specifically the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi terrorist network. MNF-I efforts to rid Fallujah of foreign terrorists and their supporters continue to progress. This strike reduced the capability of the Zarqawi network and increased safety and security throughout Iraq.
