Precision strike conducted against Anti-Iraqi Forces
Oct 2, 2004

CAMP FALLUJAH -- At approximately 6 p.m. local time, Oct. 2, Multi-National Force - Iraq conducted a precision strike against a building where15-20 Anti-Iraqi Forces (AIF) were conducting military-style training on the outskirts of Fallujah.

Intelligence sources confirmed that AIF were this position to conduct training in order to disrupt the efforts of local Iraqi Security Forces, as well as to harass the local populace. AIF criminals are reported to have links to local terrorist elements, specifically the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi terrorist network.
Based on analysis of multiple intelligence reports, Multi-National Force-Iraq, accurately targeted this building while protecting the lives of innocent civilians. Throughout the operation, multiple measures were employed to ensure no innocent civilians were present when the strikes took place.

MNF-I efforts to rid Fallujah of foreign terrorists and their supporters continue to make progress. This strike reduced the capability of the Zarqawi network and increased safety and security throughout Iraq.
