A

Yes...go to http://my.nih.gov and there you can select the eTSD gadget on the portal just as you would any other module.

Who is responsible for maintaining the On-Line Directory (eTSD)?
A

Management of the content is handled by the Telecommunications Infrastructure Branch – Directory Services Team:
telephonedirserv@mail.nih.gov

Who is responsible for maintaining the NIH Enterprise Directory (NED)?
A
Employees are able to update some of the information in their NED record using the NED employee update service.

Other information can only be changed by submitting a request to an Administrative Officer (AO). Visit the NED site and click on "Help" for detailed update instructions.

AOs should also be contacted if an entry needs to be added or deleted.

Who is responsible for maintaining the Verizon Directory?
A

NIH listings that appear in the Verizon Blue Pages are managed by the TIB (Telecommunications Infrastructure Branch ). To add, delete or change NIH listings in the Verizon Blue Pages, or to order Verizon books, submit a Telephone Service Request Form. (Click here for a TSR form)

To obtain additional information related to NIH listings in the Verizon Directory, please send e-mail to: NIH Telephone Directory Services - telephonedirserv@mail.nih.gov

I could not find a specific service, but I know it exists; how can I get it added to the eTSD?
A

For a simple change in the directory - e-mail requests for changes to: telephonedirserv@mail.nih.gov

For multiple changes contact the ACM (Authorized Content Manager) for the IC that is responsible for the specific serivce.

Note: Changes to the NIH Telephone and Services Directory are subject to final approval by an Authorized Content Manager for the IC.

What is an ACM (Authorized Content Manager)?
A

(Authorized Content Manager -ACM), is the NIH employee who is listed in our records as authorized to change content for an IC at NIH. To find your ACM, contact your AO (Admin. Officer) or send an e-mail request with the name of the IC to: telephonedirserv@mail.nih.gov

Note: Changes to the NIH Telephone and Services Directory are subject to final approval by an Authorized Content Manager for the IC.

How can I get information corrected in the NIH Directory?
A

- All changes should be coordinated with the the ACM (Authorized Content Manager) for the IC.
- Correction in type errors can be requested via e-mail to: telephonedirserv@mail.nih.gov

Note: Changes to the NIH Telephone and Services Directory are subject to final approval by an Authorized Content Manager for the IC.

A

Contact the Administrative Officer for your IC or send an e-mail request with the name of the IC to: telephonedirserv@mail.nih.gov

How can I get a hard copy NIH directory delivered to my office?
A
Requests for individual copies, of the NIH Telephone and Service Directory are handled by the NIH Mail Room; call 301-496-3586 for Customer Service.

Who publishes and distributes the hard copy NIH Directory?
A

Publication and Mass distribution is managed by the DNST Telecommunications Infrastructure Branch.
Distribution of the NIH Telephone and Service Directory is completed twice a year.

How do I dispose of my old hard copy NIH directories?
A
The NIH Telephone and Service Directory should be recycled as mixed paper.

I ordered a book, but it never arrived. How can I track my orders?
A
Please send your requests to: telephonedirserv@mail.nih.gov
You will be contacted and given a service ticket order number (Remedy).

Why are less books being printed and distributed?
A

An on-line directory has been launched at: http://teledirectory.nih.gov
The hard copy book will be published in lesser numbers, allowing for reduction in cost, paper and labor. The user-friendly on-line format will allow our customers immediate access to important information, while the hard copy book will continue to serve those who actually need it.

I found a broken link (non-working link) in the On-Line Directory, how can I get it fixed?
A
"Report a Broken LInk" is located in the side-bar menu on the eTSD.

When can I expect my request for updates to be completed?
A

Depending on the type of request made, most updates can be completed with 24 (business) hours.
Some of the issues that can affect the maintenance schedule:
- the amount of data requested to be changed
- approval by an Authorized Content Manager for the IC is required
- the "domino effect"; when a request for a minor cange leads to the need for many other changes
