The NTRC is located in beautiful
East Tennessee, about halfway between Oak Ridge National Laboratory, in Oak Ridge, and The University of Tennessee, in Knoxville. A number of major highways connect Knoxville to other metropolitan areas, bringing the NTRC within a convenient one day's drive from over half of the nation's marketplace.

Many visitors to the NTRC schedule some free time during their stay in East Tennessee to enjoy the bountiful and diverse natural beauty. The area is surrounded by national and state parks and several lakes. With recreational opportunities for every season, there's always something to do in East Tennessee!
