Eligibility criteria
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Kansas, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $12,104 if one person lives in the household; $16,238 if two people live in the household; $20,372 if three people live in the household; $24,506 if four people live in the household; $28,640 if five people live in the household; $32,774 if six people live in the household, $36,908 if seven people live in the household; or $41,042 if eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $4,134 for each additional person in the home.
Description
The Kansas Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a federally funded program that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs. Benefit levels vary according to the following factors: 1) Household income, 2) number of persons living at the address, 3) type of dwelling, 4) type of heating fuel, and 5) utility rates.
