Emergency Mental Health and Traumatic Stress, Disaster Mental Health Programs
CMHS disaster mental health programs are conducted by the Emergency Mental Health and Traumatic Stress Services Branch of the Federal Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS). In partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), this Branch of CMHS is responsible for assessing, promoting, and enhancing the resilience of Americans in times of crisis. Evidence-Based Practices: Shaping Mental Health Services Toward Recovery
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and its Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) are pleased to introduce six Evidence-Based Practice Implementation Resource Kits to encourage the use of evidence-based practices in mental health. Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) Program Spotlight: Prevention Initiatives and Priority Programs Development Branch
CMHS supports programs for populations that are at risk for mental illnesses and lack mental health services, including women, minorities, older adults, rural Americans, persons in the criminal justice system, and refugees. These programs focus on prevention; early intervention; treatment services; special and emerging mental health issues, such as workplace, domestic, and school violence; the role of the faith community; services that meet cultural needs; and the mental health needs of refugees and torture survivors. more...

National Epilepsy Awareness Month is intended to raise public awareness of epilepsy and other seizure disorders, to dispel the myths and stigma associated with these disorders, and to promote research on the causes and treatment.
