  • National Drug Court Evaluation Multi-Site Longitudinal
    Impact Study
    (NIJ) (Deadline: February 10, 2003) (Text or PDF)
    NIJ, in cooperation with the Office of Justice Programs' Drug Courts Program Office, requests proposals to conduct an offender-based, longitudinal research project to evaluate the impact that participation in a drug court program has on post-program behavior. Funding under this solicitation may be awarded to a single research agency or to a collaborative effort among agencies.

  • FY2002 Applications for Discretionary Grant Program are now being accepted from states for the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws Program. Local governments and community groups should contact their state representatives to apply for assistance in setting up a program in their area.
  • Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (Deadline: July 12, 2002) BJA announces the availability of up to 9 competitive awards to state governments to create initiatives, or enhance existing programs, that increase the state's capacity to analyze and respond to the illegal use of prescription drugs.

  • The Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners (RSAT) Formula Grant Program assists states and units of local government in developing and implementing residential substance abuse treatment programs within state and local correctional and detention facilities in which prisoners are incarcerated for a period of time sufficient to permit substance abuse treatment.   • Fiscal Year 2002 Drug-Free Communities Support Program Application Deadline: April 24, 2002. More information about a program that is already at work in 463 communities.
  • The Tribal Drug Court Grant Program Application kit is available in Text or PDF here and through the U.S. Postal Service. (Deadline January 4, 2002) Register to receive a copy of the Tribal Application Kit.
  • Program Announcement for the Tribal Youth Field-Initiated Research and Evaluation Program, Applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. ET on January 23, 2001. Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is requesting applications for the Tribal Youth Field-Initiated Research and Evaluation Program to conduct research and evaluation projects focusing on youth from federally recognized tribes in the areas of alcohol and substance abuse, child abuse or neglect, or the indigenous approaches to juvenile justice. Research findings will inform prevention and intervention efforts with offenders, high-risk youth, or juvenile victims of crime.
