Ordering Online

We have two types of online orders. One is a totally free special offer and usually includes one or a small number of publications that were advertised in a magazine or newspaper. Click here if you are looking for a special offer promoted in the media.

The second type of order is when you browse our topic categories (the red buttons on the left of this screen) and personally select a variety of publications. You can order as many different publications as you wish. For these larger orders, you pay the sales price noted for any publication you want and there is a flat $2 service fee if you order any of the free publications. Ordering this way is easy. All it takes is a few minutes to browse our site, a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover), or a Government Printing Office Deposit Account, and soon you will have your own copies of the printed editions of these valuable documents. Note: Multiple copies of some of the free publications are available. Please call toll-free 1-888-878-3256
(8 am - 8 pm ET, M-F) for more information.

Don't want to put your credit card information on the Net? You can still use the shopping site to make your selections and print a completed order form that you can mail, phone, or fax to Pueblo with your check, money order or credit card information.

We also accept GPO Deposit accounts. To establish a GPO Deposit Account you can call or write to the GPO Accounts Receivable Section at 1-800-567-8476 (outside the DC Metro Area) or 202-512-2083 (DC Metro Area);

   U.S. Government Printing Office
   732 North Capitol Street, NW
   Attn: Mr. Jim Hix
   Stop: FMAC
   Washington, DC 20401

If you're not used to placing orders online, or aren't sure what to do, this section answers your questions and takes you through the process step by step.

How to:

Publications on the web site are listed under subject  categories: Cars, Money, Federal Programs, and so on. Links to each category are provided at the top and bottom of each page.

  • When you are in a subject category page you will see descriptions of all publications which can be ordered. To view the contents of the publication, click on the open book icon next to its description. To order a printed copy, click the check box on the right side of the screen next to the publication description (click it a second time if you change your mind and want to unselect it).

Important - Once you've checked all the publications you want in that particular category, click on the red button "Add to or View Cart."

[ Add/View Cart ]

This registers your selections with the shopping program. If you don't do this, your selections from that category will not be recorded and will not appear on your order form. (This will not place an order, only update your order form. Until you specifically authorize payment at the end of your session, you can change, add, or delete publications, or cancel the whole order.)

  • After clicking on "Add to or View Cart", you'll be shown a list of all the items you've selected so far. To go to a different category, click "continue shopping."
  • The "continue shopping" button will return you to the category you just left. Select a new category from the subject links at the top or bottom of the page. Keep doing this until you've visited all the categories you're interested in.
  • After you've selected all the publications you plan to order, and have clicked "Add to or View Cart," review your order carefully. Enter the number of copies of each publication you'd like to receive or remove any publication from the list altogether.

Please note: We get these books from over 40 different publishing agencies and each one has its' own restrictions on how many copies of their free publications we can supply. We will try to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee that you will receive all the copies you request. To check on current availability for specific publications please call toll-free 1-888-878-3256 (9 am - 8 pm ET, M-F) for more information.

  • Once you're satisfied with your order, click "complete order".
  • Scroll down and fill in the information requested: name, address, etc. Your phone number is required so that if any problems with your order arise, we can get in touch with you.

Please note: If you enter an e-mail address, a confirmation of your order will be sent to that address. This occurs even if you decide not to order online and are printing out the order form to mail, phone, or fax to us. When you get this e-mailed confirmation don't panic, look under "Method of Payment". If it says "Mail" then you have not placed an order. If it says "Credit card" or "GPO Deposit Account" we are processing your order.

  • After filling in this information, click on "continue to payment selection.". You now have three choices:

To pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), fill in your card type, number, and expiration date, then click "Click here to authorize this charge to your credit card."

To pay by GPO Deposit Account, fill in your account  number, then click "Click here to authorize this charge to your credit card."

Or, scroll down farther and click "Display Order Form." You can then print out the form and mail, phone or fax  it, along with payment, to the address/numbers given.
  • If you decide not to place an order, click on the "discontinue transaction" button to clear your information and return to the FCIC Home Page.

Is It Safe?

Worried about sending personal information over the Internet? We recognize your concerns and have provided a system to protect and safeguard your data.

That's the simple answer in English. Here it is again in techno-speak. When you submit your online order, the information you provide is encrypted using a data security protocol. This protocol, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), provides data encryption, server authentication, message integrity, and optional client authentication for a TCP/IP connection. This ensures that no part of your order information can be read in transit.

What all this means is that ordering on this system is as safe as handing your credit card to a waiter or store clerk. However, if you would prefer not to send personal information over the Internet, there is an option at the end of the ordering process to print out the completed order form and mail it to us or call us toll-free at 1-888-878-3256 (M-F, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Eastern Time) with your order and payment information.
