Worker Drug Use and Workplace Policies and Programs: Results from the 1994 and 1997 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse |
At workplaces with small establishment sizes, the prevalence of self-reported access to EAPs was higher among current illicit drug users in 1997 than among current illicit drug users in 1994. At workplaces with a large establishment size, regardless of the drug use and heavy alcohol use status of workers, the prevalence of self-reported access to EAPs was lower among the workers in 1997 than among workers in 1994. In 1997, workers in small establishments were significantly more likely than workers in small establishments in 1994 to report that their workplace had a drug testing program. However, in 1994 and 1997, workers in large establishments were the most likely to say their workplace had a drug testing program.
