Among its many functions, OSH develops and distributes the annual Surgeon General's report on smoking and health, coordinates a national public information and education program on tobacco use and health, and coordinates tobacco education and research efforts within the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and throughout the governments both federal and state. The Smoking and Health database, consisting of approximately 60,000 records, is now available on CD-ROM, (CDP File), which is available through the Government Printing Office. For additional ordering information or details about subscriptions, write the Superintendent of Documents, Government Printing Office, Washington, DC 20402. Subjects such as smoking cessation, ETS/passive smoking, pregnancy/infants, and professional/technical information are among the many features of the publication list which is updated periodically and available upon request by calling. New to the functions of OSH is a toll-free hotline designed to give easier access to specific promotional campaign materials. These materials can be requested by calling the 800 number above.
