The National Kidney and Urologic Diseases Information Clearinghouse (NKUDIC) is an information and referral service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health. A central information source on the prevention and management of kidney and urologic diseases, the clearinghouse responds to written inquiries, develops and distributes publications about kidney and urologic diseases, and provides referrals to kidney and urologic organizations. Publications distributed by the Clearinghouse are indexed on the Combined Health Information Database (CHID), available on the web at the internet address http://chid.nih.gov. Access is free of charge.
Publications
NKUDIC provides information about kidney and urologic diseases--from patient and professional educational materials to reprints of selected journal articles. Single copies of publications developed by NKUDIC and NIDDK about specific kidney and urologic diseases are provided, at no charge. Of special note is NKUDIC's public awareness campaign on urinary incontinence in women, Let's Talk About Bladder Control for Women, which includes six brochures, a booklet, a diary, and a fact sheet for health professionals. Serial publication: KU Notes (newsletter), features news about kidney and urologic diseases research, special events, professional and patient organizations, and publications available from NKUDIC and other organizations.
