The Weight-Control Information Network (WIN) was established by the National Institutes of Health's (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) in June 1994. WIN is a national source of information on weight control, obesity and weight-related nutritional disorders for health professionals and the public. The Information Network responds to both written and telephone requests for information and referrals, and provides a variety of written materials on obesity, weight control, and nutritional disorders. Publications distributed by the Network are indexed on the Combined Health Information Database (CHID), available on the web at the internet address http://chid.nih.gov. Access is free of charge.
