SAMHSA's National Mental Health Information Center provides the public information and referrals on mental health services. The Center offers a toll-free number, an electronic bulletin board, and a World Wide Web site. People may also write for information. Free copies of publications on a range of mental health issues are available. The Center health information specialists answer caller's questions, or refer them to Federal, State, or local resources for more information and help. The Center offers up-to-the-minute information on issues such as prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services for mental illness: and on subjects ranging from advocacy to women's issues.
