Abstract

The Center for Public Health, Health Resources and Services Administration, serves as the principal Federal focus for the development and improvement of basic and advanced professional education and continuing professional development of dentists, public health workers, preventive medicine residents, and health administrators who work in hospitals, nursing homes/long- term care, ambulatory primary care settings, such as health maintenance organizations, community/migrant health centers, and community based organizations. Overall focus and attention is given to ensuring that graduates and trainees are going to work in underserved areas thereby enhancing the access for the populations in these areas, and that the profile of these graduates and trainees reflect the diversity of the communities they will be serving.

Publications

The Division offers numerous publications of interest to personnel, planners, and administrators, including titles on allied health programs, allied health education and manpower, credentialing of health personnel, dental care, dental schools, dental manpower, environmental health, geriatric education, geriatric faculty, health care administration optometry, and pharmacy education and manpower. Public Health manpower and education. Also veterinary medicine manpower and education. In addition to skill evaluation, dental insurance regulations and the use of computers in dental practice.
