Abstract

The American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) promotes undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education in preventive medicine and advocates cost-effective prevention programs in legislation and social policy. It sponsors forums on topical issues in preventive medicine, gathers and disseminates information on health promotion and disease prevention programs, and undertakes other research and development projects in the field.

Publications

The ACPM publishes booklets for health professionals on various issues in preventive medicine including one on career opportunities. Serial publications: Preventive Medicine (newsletter), quarterly--news in public policy and organization activities; ACPM Directory of Preventive Medicine Residency Programs, biannual; Membership Roster, biannual; American Journal of Preventive Medicine (journal), bimonthly--news on practice, teaching, and research in preventive medicine.
