NPIC provides objective, science-based information about a wide variety of pesticide-related subjects, including: pesticide product information, information on the recognition and management of pesticide poisonings, toxicology, environmental chemistry, referrals for laboratory analyses, investigation of pesticide incidents, emergency treatment information, safety information, health and envronmental effects, and clean-up and disposal procedures.
NPIC's is a toll-free telephone service available to anyone in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, including the general public, the hearing impaired, Spanish speakers, and medical, veterinary, and other health care professionals. Pesticide information is also available from the NPIC website at http://npic.orst.edu. NPIC is a cooperative effort between Oregon State University and the U.S. EPA. NPIC operates from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm PST daily, including Saturday and Sunday. Voice mail and e-mail is provided for after-hours inquiries.
