POSITION: Research Entomologist

LOCATION: Wapato, WA

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The Yakima Agricultural Research Unit in Wapato, Washington is seeking a Research Entomologist to fill a temporary postdoctoral research position. One goal of this Research Unit is to develop new knowledge of the chemical ecology of insect pests of temperate tree fruits, including pear psylla and codling moth, and to isolate and identify bioactive compounds that might be useful for monitoring and control of pest insect species. This position is in support of a board long-term fundamental research program on the non-insecticidal control of insect pests of tree fruits.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Recent Ph.D. in Entomology or closely related field is required. Knowledge of insect behavior, chemistry, and the ability to prepare reports and manuscripts for publication are required.
