POSITION: Research Nutritionist

LOCATION: Grand Forks, North Dakota

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The position is located at the Grand Forks Human Nutrition Research Center, Grand Forks, North Dakota. The incumbent will be responsible for the planning, implementation, execution, and reporting of research on the effects of high protein, energy restricted diets on calcium homeostasis and bone health. Research will include working with the established human studies support staff at the research center to design experiments, write protocols with appropriate procedures and consideration of risks/benefits for human subjects, implement procedures including the safe measurement of retention of radioisotopic tracers, and analyze and report the results. The research may also involve animal and cell culture models to further investigate biological mechanisms for calcium homeostasis and bone metabolism.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Recent Ph.D. in Nutrition or a closely related field is required. Knowledge of experimental methods in nutrition research, including development of human and animal study protocols is desired.
