POSITION: Research Animal Physiologist
LOCATION: Ft. Collins, CO
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: The National Animal Germplasm Program, National
Center for Genetic Resources Preservation, Ft. Collins, Colorado is seeking
a post doctoral Research Associate for a two year appointment. The incumbent
will create efficacious protocols for harvesting, cryopreserving, and
implanting primordial germ cells from various lines and breeds of chickens
and turkeys. The genetic composition of resultant offspring will also
be determined. The developed protocols will be used to collect and store
primordial germ cells as part of the national gene bank for livestock
species.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Recent Ph.D. in Animal Physiology or a related
biological science is required. Knowledge of cell growth and development
and the ability to manipulate cells of interest is required.
